Wheeeee!

I made it! I will not bore my friends list with the icons everyone that finish get, but do take a look at my Wordle. No, it really hasn't changed much. I still overuse "like" "just" and "fire". My main character is still named Danah. But you know, I have 50k of it now! The novel still isn't done (but getting there) and I am very happy about that!

I do however love Wordle.

Now I need to write a resume. And start applying for jobs. And get some sewing done. In no specific order.

Sharks in my pants

Hmm. Made it to school one day this week. Aiming for two, so tomorrow is IT. I don't feel so well, would rather just lay curled up in bed all day long. Everything else just requires... so much of everything.

Today I'm doing laundry and sewing. I made some shark pads yesterday, with fabric T sent. Love them so much. I might actually keep them. Lately I've been selling everything I make, I BUY cloth pads for myself. Sort of ironic.

Reading fun YA novels that I got in the mail. it's a nice world where everybody gets the boy in the end (one each, that is), there's always time for soccer and the heroine shaves hear head so that the other girls won't have to do it.

Crocheting today

Two days until school starts. I'm nervous, and I need to buy a hair brush. Because apparently I no longer own one. I have no idea what happened with it.

Spent some time cleaning and rearranging my flat, and putting up some art that my sister painted. She's been in Barcelona for a year and a half, and loves it. She drags home new boys every week, and grumbles about how they're shorter than her. Then again, being a blonde, Swedish amazon of 5'10 in Spain is, apparently, popular.

Right now I'm crocheting an elephant's butt with sock yarn. I am going to make the rest of him too, obviously, but I have such a hard time counting the rows. Because there's no clear beginning and end. He may come out slightly lopsided.

Writing is going well. Possibly I'm a wee bit bouncy about it.

And oh, my donated pads at [info]artscaresyou is currently going for AU$37. That's almost double of what I'm taking for them. I'm very very excited that somebody like them enough to bid that high.

And a nap is in order, my loves. It's nice to be back.

Art that scares you

My lovely [info]cassiphone and her friends are doing an auction type thing for their friend, trying to raise $20,000 for a fancy kind of chemo he needs. Read more about it here. People have donated all kinds of neat stuff that I wish I had the money to bid on. I gave them two sample packs of my cloth pads (this and this). Probably one of the weirdest things that have been donated, but hey. Whatever you can do, right? They haven't been posted yet, but when they do... head over there and make a bid. All money will go to Paul Haines.

So far my absolute favourites are this piece, done on an old school typewriter (so out of my price range) and this quilt, made by [info]cassiphone. I'm pretty sure more will be added to that pile as we go, but oh my. So much great stuff. Oh, and by the way, before the auction even started, they had managed to raise $16,000, by random donations only. There are some amazing people out there!

Starting over

So, wow. I haven't posted here in like forever. I think it's safe to say that when people email you, checking if you're still alive... you have been MIA for way too long. But yes. Here I am. I've gotten my drive back. In some ways. Not so much in others.

Lots have changed, though. In case you've been wondering what I've been up to, well, l shall satisfy you with a list. Because I'm good like that.

I got to take over the lease from my roommate, and now have my own little one-bedroom flat in a medium sized Swedish town. I sort of finished the one-year-class I had signed up for, with depression and other little unpleasantries making me attend way too few classes. I'm making a new attempt this Autumn since I've gotten into this program at the university in my city, called Slöjd-, Hantverk och Formgivning, roughly translated Handicrafts and Design. Read more about it here, in English, should you be curious. I'm terrified, but determined to do it.

I just sold my 400th cloth pad, and am up to my 95th customer since I started a year ago. I think that when I have reached 100 I will do something... fun. Hmm. I have to think about that one.

In the craziness of the last year I've completely forgotten about knitting. Seriously. I've knitted half a baby sweater this year. That's it. I went back to Ravelry for the first time in months today, and got so much inspiration.

I'm writing too. This is oh so exciting. I haven't written non-biographical stuff for years and years. I'm having so much fun, though, and it's quite a challenge. In fact, I'm cutting this short, because my story is yelling at me.

But I'm back! Catch me up what you've been up to, pretty please, there is no way I can go through nine months of entries. I love you all, but there is a limit to my love.

Sighs. So nice to be back. Lots of love.
